At Her Tech Circle, we’re on a mission to create a movement that empowers women in tech to thrive. We believe that by building a supportive community, we can break down the barriers that hold women back and create a more inclusive, diverse, and empowering tech industry.
One of the most powerful insights we’ve gained is that the challenges women face in tech are not isolated incidents, but collective experiences. Through our events, mentorship programs, and small group discussions, we’ve seen women from all walks of life come together, share their stories, and support one another. It’s been incredible to witness the sense of community and belonging that’s formed.
We know that women make up just 26% of the tech workforce in Australia, and that 50% of women in tech leave their careers due to workplace culture, the gender pay gap, and lack of career opportunities. These stats are a stark reminder of why our mission is so important. At Her Tech Circle, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for women to connect, share, and grow.
We’re achieving our mission through a range of initiatives and events that foster connection, growth, and empowerment. From our sold-out Mentorship Masterclasses, where women can learn from industry leaders and get feedback on their pitches, to our Powerskill Panels, where we tackle tough topics and share practical advice, we’re creating spaces for women to share their experiences, learn from each other, and grow together. As one attendee put it, “This was one of the best organised, most welcoming and most valuable events I’ve been to this year.” Our meetups, and networking events have also brought together thousands of women in tech, providing opportunities for meaningful connections, skill-building, and collaboration. By providing a platform for women’s voices to be heard, we’re helping to break down barriers and create a more inclusive tech industry.
Our community is built on the values of empowerment, intentional bravery, and trust. We love seeing women arrive at our events feeling nervous and unsure, only to leave with newfound confidence, valuable connections, and – most importantly – friends. It’s this sense of belonging and community that we’re most proud of, and we’re committed to nurturing it as we continue to grow and evolve.
